So You Want To Be A Model?

So you want to be a Model?

And pretend to be perfect.

A beautiful mannequin brought to life.

An object without a voice.

A toy with no spirit.

So you want to be a Model?

And be everyone’s fantasy.

To have the whole world envy you.

As you starve yourself.

And critique your every flaw.

So you want to be a Model?

To dream big and succeed.

To be larger than life.

Without truly experiencing life on your terms.

Doing whatever and whoever

It takes to get you to the top.

Portraying a character.

That is not really you.

So you want to be a Model?

In an unstable Industry.

Which eats you up,

Chews you and spits you out alive.

An industry where your friends

Stab you in the back

With a smile on their face.

So you want to be a Model?

Where one season,

One look, and one photo

Could change your life forever.

Where the photographers

Are voyeurs and perverts in disguise.

So you want to be a Model?

And be a puppet operated by strings.

Or do you want to accept yourself

Just the way you are?

Despite what others think.

Wake Up!

Use your mind first not your body.

You deserve to be authentically you.

Listen to your heart

Follow your intuition.

Set a trend don’t follow one.

Change the world one idea at a time.

An Outrageous Ambassador

Do you realise you impact your community, your colleagues, your family, your friends and the world?

Do you know your thoughts, ideas, behaviour, clothes, and body language have a ripple effect and influence the atmosphere?

Do you understand how special you are?

Yes, you honey are an Outrageous Ambassador!

You’re probably thinking “Who me?” or “No way” Yes, I’m talking to you, the one reading this blog.  Everything about you is distinctive and beautiful. You represent your gender, your race, your country, your school, your employer, your family, your neighbourhood. Your voice, your accent, your features, are like a thumbprint they identify you.  They are what make you memorable.

How do I know? Well, I’m talking from personal experience.  In London most people can tell I’m American from my southern little twang accent. Others can tell I have Caribbean heritage and some people know I’m a woman of faith without me ever mentioning religion.  At times it can be annoying or unfair to be type casted but, I am over it.  It is what is.  Somethings are not worth worrying about.

Whenever you enter a room people sense your presence, your vibe, your essence. Whether you want to be an Ambassador or not is non-negotiable.  So, get over it and be the best spokesperson you can.  Represent yourself, your beliefs, and where you’re from with intense pride.  You are an Outrageous Ambassador.

A Reservation For Blessings

When you make a reservation for dinner at a restaurant you do it with full confidence the seats will be waiting for you when you arrive.

Well it’s the same with the blessings God has for you.  Each time you pray you are making a reservation with God, for him to pour out abundant blessings.  Blessings that are reserved for you and are waiting on your faith to activate.

Your blessings will be there no need to hurry because they belong to you.  Sometimes your reserved blessings from God will also bless those surrounded by you: Family, friends, neighbours, work colleagues and yes even your enemies.  There’s no need to worry because when Jehovah Jireh, (The God who provides) favours you with provision you must know that no one can take it away.  God will in most cases astound you and give you more than you expected.

So pray and know deep down in your heart that God has a reservation for you.  For he is an on time God.
